History

In Portugal, the Round Table movement has been established since 1984, when it was founded in Porto.

The Round Table Porto 1 would support the formation of the Round Table Braga 2, which nevertheless had a short life. In Lisbon, the club was founded in 2004 but, after some period of inactivity, it intensified its activities and meetings as of 2011.

Currently, there are around 20 tablers in Portugal and is in a consolidation phase. Its members are in the age group between 30-40 years.

In Portugal, the Round Table movement still does not have the expression that it assumes in the countries of British influence. Due to this, the Távola Redonda has directed its activity plans to smaller events but with a relevant impact, such as the cycle of political tertúlias that it developed in 2004/2005 (with the participation of Prof. Dr. Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, among others) and fundraising activities for Social Solidarity Private Institutions.
